Welcome to 23 Things for Languages Term 2-3 2010!

The "23 Things" programme is an opportunity to explore 23 useful "Things" for learning and teaching Languages with ICTs in a small group, with a facilitator-mentor urging you on in the background.

Every Monday you will receive a notice with a few things to check out and have a go with, and at the end of the week share with the group.  Notices will be sent via email, but also posted to this Wiki (check the side bar to the right to see all of the "Things" each week!).

We also have face-to-face meetings at the beginning, middle, and end of the programme, so don't worry if you think there's a few too many Things in those weeks to do on your own!

Please note that this programme is just like a Wiki: it is always changing. If there is a "Thing" you are really keen to try or to share, leave a comment below and we'll see what we can do!

Here's some quick links to get you started:

CoverItLive Session

During the face-to-face session on 30 August, we will be using CoverItLive instead of Dimdim to look at the difference between "web conferencing" (dimdim) and "broadcasting" (CIL).CIL is a great broadcasting solution for conferences and other events that are largely one-way and don't require the use of a whiteboard or speech tools between participants.

Depending on the needs of participants, we may also use Skype (or go back to dimdim!) :) Please have Skype open throughout the day if you wish to drop in or drop out of the session and CIL is a bit 'clunky' for you.
